One the most unique and wise individuals I met during this time was Dr. Charles Mary. I was a participant in the Idea Village IDEAx program, and was fortunate to meet Dr. Mary’s daughter Mignonne Mary through this experience. Connections, which can happen in a moment, influence critical decisions like where to attend college, what passions to pursue for a career, and what relationships to engage. Inspired by [Welcome To College](http://www.welcometocollege.com), this weekly web series explores the power of human connection and the sacred threads of life operating at every given moment of time. It is created to inspire campus tour guides in their roles as leaders who are making a positive impact on the lives of prospective students and families daily. We believe a single sentence spoken at the right time can change someone's life forever. ### Sign up for The Magic Hour ### Instagram ### Recent Posts ### Posts by Topic - [Following Passion (4)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/following-passion) - [Art as Connection (3)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/art-as-connection) - [Helping Others (3)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/helping-others) - [Overcoming Obstacles (3)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/overcoming-obstacles) - [Storytelling (3)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/storytelling) - [Inspire (2)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/inspire) - [Jazz Music (2)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/jazz-music) - [New Orleans (2)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/new-orleans) - [Smiling (2)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/smiling) - [Vitality (2)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/vitality) - [Attracting Life (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/attracting-life) - [Be You (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/be-you) - [Belief In Yourself (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/belief-in-yourself) - [Coast Guard (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/coast-guard) - [Confidence (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/confidence) - [Cooking (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/cooking) - [Cultural Torchbearer (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/cultural-torchbearer) - [Dance Like Nobody's Watching (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/dance-like-nobodys-watching) - [Enthusiasm (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/enthusiasm) - [Executive Chef (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/executive-chef) - [Finding Your Voice (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/finding-your-voice) - [Focus (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/focus) - [Handshake (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/handshake) - [Happiness (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/happiness) - [Leadership (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/leadership) - [Legacy (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/legacy) - [Mardi Gras (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/mardi-gras) - [Meaningful Keepsake (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/meaningful-keepsake) - [Mentorship (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/mentorship) - [Motivation (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/motivation) - [Paying It Forward (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/paying-it-forward) - [Positive Relationships (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/positive-relationships) - [Positivity (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/positivity) - [Really Wanting It (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/really-wanting-it) - [Resilence (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/resilence) - [Rethinking Education (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/rethinking-education) - [Sacred Threads (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/sacred-threads) - [Service to Others (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/service-to-others) - [Starting with Why (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/starting-with-why) - [Valuing People (1)](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/themagichour/topic/valuing-people) see all ![TMH Logo Reversed.png](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Magic%20Hour/TMH%20Logo%20Reversed.png?width=160&name=TMH%20Logo%20Reversed.png "TMH Logo Reversed.png") Powered by [![wtc-logo.png](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/hs-fs/hub/487878/file-2541697322.png?width=138&name=file-2541697322.png "wtc-logo.png")](http://welcometocollege.com) Shot on location Thursdays at ![restsoboulogo_1442420649.png](https://blog.welcometocollege.com/hs-fs/hubfs/magic-hour/restsoboulogo_1442420649.png?width=151&name=restsoboulogo_1442420649.png "restsoboulogo_1442420649.png") ©2017 [Welcome To College, LLC](http://welcometocollege.com)
